Developer Jamison Services is at it again, adding one more tower to it’s impressive cache of Koreatown projects in the works.
This time, Urbanize LA has the scoop on a 16-story, 196-unit residential tower Jamison is planning for 640 South St. Andrews Place, just two blocks from the Wilshire/Western Purple Line station. The new tower would replace the parking lot directly behind the 1929 Art Deco-style Wilshire Professional Building, which is a designated Historic-Cultural Monument.
Plans call for a 183-foot tower made up of one and two bedroom apartments. The tower, designed by GMP Architects, would include five levels of parking, two and a half of them situated underground, with spots for up to 301 cars and 216 bicycles.
Amenities would include a lounge patio, rooftop deck with pool and dining area, fitness room, and a 1,000-square-foot dog run.
Though the site shares an address with the historic Wilshire Professional Building, the new tower would maintain a 20-foot separation from its Art Deco neighbor. Above ground, the historic Art Deco building would not be altered as part of the project, but plans call for connecting the existing subterranean parking lot to the new parking structure.
