Brookside Real Estate

Brookside

Tree-lined streets, an eclectic array of 1920s style, single-family homes and a neighborhood castle all contribute to Brookside’s charm. Originally called Wilshere Crest, the neighborhood was designed to lure people away from nearby Hancock Park and West Adams with stunning Colonials on deep lots. One residence even boasts a theatre called The Brookledge, which has hosted entertainers and magicians continuously since the 1930s. The name was eventually changed to Brookside after the Arroyo de los Jardines (Brook of the Gardens) which runs through the neighborhood. With easy access to downtown and Santa Monica, the neighborhood remains vibrant thanks to its strong homeowners’ association. Residents would not miss the annual neighborhood block party with an international cuisine, dessert competitions, live music, games for the kid and even a petting zoo. All of this makes Brookside a great place to come home to.
